Regular retightening is recommended every 6–8 weeks to maintain neat, healthy locs and manage new growth. Appointments typically take 2–3 hours, although longer intervals, excessive new growth or repairs may increase the appointment time and final cost.

Transfer clients are warmly welcomed. Before your first retightening with S|L Studios, a £25 consultation is required so we can assess your locs, maintenance history and overall condition.

Where suitable, your first retightening can take place immediately after your consultation on the same day. If both you and your loctician are happy to proceed, the £25 consultation payment will be transferred towards the cost of your retightening service.

If either party decides not to proceed following the consultation, the £25 will cover the consultation provided and is non-refundable.

All future retightening appointments require a £25 deposit to secure your booking.

What to know

Every 6–8 weeks is recommended. Regular reties prevent thinning, avoid matting at the roots, protect loc structure, and maintain clean parting.

We offer scalp and cleansing treatments, hot oil scalp treatments, deep hydration and repair treatments, and loc cutting and shaping services. All are for mature locs only (2–3 years and older).

A deep cleansing treatment using apple cider vinegar to remove product build-up, residue, and impurities. It rebalances scalp pH, refreshes dull locs, and restores natural shine.

A nourishing scalp therapy that improves blood circulation, relieves dryness, and promotes healthy hair growth. Warm botanical oils are gently massaged into the scalp.

Yes. We provide trimming, shaping, layering, taper cuts, bob cuts, and contour cuts. Pricing depends on the style and complexity.
